UNBREAKABLE SPIRIT: Continuing to persevere, staying strong and confident despite your given circumstance.
What does having an unbreakable sprit mean to us?
“Unbreakable Spirit” is not something you will find a definition of in the dictionary.
It is more of an attitude within yourself. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where someone has said or done something to you that makes you either sit down and cry or want to sit down and cry? Sure you have, we all have. At that moment our spirit was broken. At that moment we allowed ourselves to believe what was said or done to us rather than focusing on the truth.
Have you even been in a situation that you knew was not a good situation to be in. Maybe you were with your friends and they were doing things that you knew was not right? Deep inside of you your spirit told you this is not right, but because of pressure from your friends you joined in. Your spirit was broken then as well.
We all should have passions in our lives. We should be passionate for our God. We should be passionate for gifted areas in our life - maybe helping those less fortunate than ourselves. We should have a passion to succeed in everything that is good and right that we set out to do such as our training in martial arts, school, and work. Having an “unbreakable spirit” means holding on to these passions, standing up for what is right, and not letting anyone else persuade us to do otherwise.
We have all been uniquely created. There is no one else like us. God has given us a particular spirit that is ours and ours alone. We should always have perseverance in all that we do and should not let anyone’s words that might tell us we are no good at __, or should not do __ (provided it is good and right in God’s eyes), or just put us down.
Have confidence in who you are and who God created you to be. Focus on an unbreakable spirit and always keep your heart and eyes on the truths God tells us.
“For God has not given up a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7
