COOPERATION means working together to do more than you can do alone.

Have you ever found yourself overwhelmed because you are trying to accomplish something and it seems like you just can’t do it alone?  Have you ever felt like you are just too small to make a difference?  Have you ever looked at a situation and known it would be better if more people helped out?

I am sure you can think of situation for all of these questions and that is where cooperation comes in.  You see, God did not put us here on earth to live life alone.  He created us with a need for others, a desire to be with other, and the ability to help others.  How cool is that!

All throughout the Bible God tells us stories where people cooperate and work together.  In Exodus you can find people working together to get God’s work done while building the Tabernacle (Exodus 28:1, 3; 31:1-11; 35:21, 34; 39:42-43).  Also in Exodus you can find people working to help someone succeed when Joshua wins the battle over the Amalekites (Exodus 17:8-13).  In Nehemiah we see how we can work together to do what seems impossible (Nehemiah 1:1-6; 2-4; 6:1-16).  We can also read about how people can work together to change someone’s life as in Luke when Jesus heals a paralyzed man (Luke 5:17-26).

When we join together and cooperate with each other, so many things can be accomplished!  I challenge you to look for opportunities over the next two months to work with others.  You can help your mom and dad (hint hint - remember Mother’s Day & Father’s Day) and your other family members.  Let’s not forget your teachers and friends as well.  You can even look for opportunities to help those you don’t already know that could benefit from your cooperation and assistance (this is a great opportunity to do with your parents - maybe a homeless feeding or other volunteer event)

Have fun with this!  God loves when we work together for good!  You will feel good as well!
